Parking or permit fees, if your itinerary needs them, are listed in your written quote.

We plan drop-offs and pickups at legal motorcoach loading zones near the monuments and Smithsonian museums, and your driver stays close by so your group never has to hunt for the bus.
Stadiums and arenas
Game-day routes and pickup points for Nationals Park, Capital One Arena, Audi Field and Northwest Stadium in Landover, planned around event traffic.

Charter Bus Parking and Drop-Off in Washington DC
Moving a 45-foot motorcoach through downtown DC takes local knowledge. Our chauffeurs run these routes every week, and we plan the loading points and parking before your trip so your group isn't circling the block.
National Mall and monuments
Coaches use the designated tour bus loading zones along the Mall and at the Tidal Basin, then stage at the Union Station bus deck or on approved streets while your group explores. We time pickups to the zone limits so no one waits in the heat or rain.
Union Station bus deck
The Union Station parking garage has a dedicated motorcoach deck with hourly and daily rates. It is the most reliable place to park a full-size coach in the city and sits minutes from the Capitol, Judiciary Square and Penn Quarter.
Convention center and hotels
The Walter E. Washington Convention Center and the large hotels in Woodley Park, Foggy Bottom and Crystal City all have coach drop-off points. We coordinate with venue security and your hotel's bell desk in advance so the bus pulls in where the group expects it.
Stadiums and arenas
Nationals Park, Audi Field, Capital One Arena, FedExField and Commanders Field each have specific bus lots and event-day traffic plans. Your driver gets the venue's bus instructions from us before departure, and we stay on site for post-game pickup.
Idling and loading rules
DC limits engine idling to three minutes and enforces coach loading zones. The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) publishes the current motorcoach rules, and our drivers follow them, so your trip never picks up a ticket or a complaint from the venue.
Luggage and accessibility
Our 56-passenger coaches have under-floor luggage bays sized for a full load of checked bags. If anyone in your group needs a wheelchair-accessible vehicle or extra boarding time, tell us when you book and we'll plan the stops accordingly.
How Charter Bus Booking Works
- Send your trip details. Tell us your date, headcount, pickup and drop-off locations, and timing. For multi-stop or multi-day trips, an itinerary helps.
- Get a written quote. We confirm the vehicle, hours, and every line item (tolls, gratuity and fuel) in writing, usually within a few business hours.
- Confirm and plan. We confirm the pickup schedule and send your driver's contact details before the trip.
- Travel together. Your coach arrives early, loads your group and luggage, and stays on schedule. Dispatch is available 24/7.

Why Book Direct with RDV Instead of a Broker
Many of the "charter bus companies" that show up for Washington DC are booking platforms that take your deposit and then sub-contract the trip to whichever local operator is available. RDV Limousine is the operator. The coach in the photos above is our coach, the driver is our employee, and the person who quotes the trip is the same office that dispatches it.
One accountable company
You know exactly which vehicle and which company will show up. If plans change the morning of the trip, you call our dispatch directly, not a call center that has to track down a subcontractor.
Transparent pricing
Our quote lists hours, tolls, gratuity and fuel in writing, with no broker markup layered on top. Hourly rates for every vehicle are published on our rates page.
Verified and insured
We operate under our own USDOT authority with commercial insurance, and we hold memberships in the United Motorcoach Association, the American Bus Association and the National Limousine Association. You can check any carrier's safety record on the FMCSA SAFER system before you book, and we encourage you to check ours.
Local drivers, local dispatch
Our chauffeurs live and work in the DMV. They know the loading zones, the game-day detours and the fastest way from Dulles to the Hill, and our dispatch desk answers 24/7.
Charter Bus Rental FAQ
How many passengers fit on a charter bus?
Our full-size charter buses seat up to 56 passengers. For smaller groups, a 23-, 28- or 36-passenger minibus or a 14-passenger Sprinter van is usually the better fit.
How much does a charter bus rental cost in Washington DC?
Charter buses start at $195 per hour with a 5-hour minimum for trips within the DC area, so a half-day trip starts around $975 and a full 8-hour day around $1,560. Long-distance and multi-day trips are quoted by itinerary. Tolls, gratuity and fuel are not included, and your total is confirmed in writing before you book.
How far in advance should we book a charter bus?
Book 2–4 weeks ahead for most trips, and earlier for spring and fall weekends, graduations, and large events, when coaches sell out first. Last-minute requests are welcome; call 202-528-5233 and we'll check availability right away.
Can we take a charter bus outside the DC area?
Yes. We run charter trips across Virginia and Maryland and to other East Coast cities such as Philadelphia, New York, Richmond and Virginia Beach. Long-distance trips are quoted by itinerary, including driver hours and any overnight needs.
What amenities do your charter buses have?
Our full-size coaches all have Wi-Fi and an onboard restroom, plus reclining leather seats, climate control, USB charging, overhead and under-floor luggage storage and a PA system.
Do you provide charter buses for airport groups?
Yes. We coordinate group pickups at Dulles, Reagan National and BWI, including groups arriving on several flights. See group airport shuttles.
Can you handle events that need several buses?
Yes. We regularly run multi-vehicle shuttles for conferences, weddings and sporting events, combining charter buses, minibuses and Sprinters from one reservation. See group transportation.
Is gratuity included in the charter bus rate?
No. Gratuity, tolls and fuel are shown as separate line items in your written quote, so the total you approve is the total you pay.
Can we make multiple stops or change the itinerary?
Yes. Multi-stop itineraries are normal for tours, weddings and conference shuttles. Share your schedule when you request a quote and your driver will follow it; reasonable changes on the day can be handled through 24/7 dispatch.
